Print and Retail Experience Designer, Culminate, Portland, OR
2021 – Present

At Culminate I work with a small team of designers to create retail experiences and printed materials, primarily for Nike in its North American locations. This includes designing engaging window treatments, wayfinding, informational signage, product signage, billboards, large scale graphics, motion graphics, and interactive experiences to highlight product in-store. I both work to create the designs as well as prepare the final digital files for print production. I work in a very detail oriented position with no margin for error.

As a freelance designer I work directly with clients to solve complex design problems. It requires a high level of attention to detail, lots of email communication and self motivation to meet deadlines agreed upon with the client. Studio Assistant + Riso Tech

2018 – 2021

As a studio assistant at Outlet I practiced clear and considered communication with artists and workshop students about the process of reproducing their work as risograph prints. Because these mechanical stencil printers are notoriously unreliable, I needed to be patient and calm while solving frustrating problems on the fly. I also edited files in Photoshop, and laid out booklets in InDesign to prepare them to go to press. I co-taught beginner and advanced Risograph printmaking workshops for adults. I also regularly helped create social media content including text layouts and product photos.

Graphic Designer
A+D Projects, Portland, OR
2017 – 2019

While working with A+D projects (the in-house design studio at Portland State University), I was able to establish collaborative workflows with teammates, coordinate meetings with clients and stakeholders alike, as well as manage internal meetings. I was able to become more attentive, professional, and adaptable in those meetings. In light of the budget constraints of working within a public university, I learned how to become a resourceful problem solver able to design under any budget or turnaround time.

Brand Designer
JOIN PDX, Portland, OR
2017 – 2018

JOIN is a non-profit here in Portland that focuses on housing the houseless. In 2017 they started looking for junior designers who would be able to help them rebrand. Myself, along with Leland Vaughan and Robby Day, were hired by JOIN to design an entire branded suite of deliverables including a new flexible logo, stationary, mailers, vinyl signage at their physical space, a new website, social media assets, and a branded annual report. We worked with the stakeholders at JOIN to give the company a fresh, bright, and modern new visual identity.
